Valpolicella, very close to the province’s capital city, Verona, offers a rich and varied landscape. Training Systems
In recent years, Valpolicella has begun a process of modernization of the production structure towards a review of the plant layout and a more prudent choice of rootstock, clone, and planting layout. Alongside the traditional use of the Pergola, in its variations, greater attention has also been paid to the Guyot vine training system. The training system is an expression of the viticultural history of a territory. It shows how winegrowers trained the vine to make it produce at its best in that environment. Farina and its contributors use Pergola and Guyot, depending on the terroir characteristics they want to enhance in the wines produced.
